Well, I have been playing guitar for six years, I also play keyboard (I'm certainly more adept with a synthesizer than with a piano, though), I also dabble around with the bass guitar and with some conga drums and such. I am a huge fan of Dispatch and of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and I also really enjoy bands like Dave Matthews Band, Incubus, Led Zeppelin, and groups like that. I like to think that I'm pretty open-minded with music, the only real genre I can't handle is screaming metal (stuff like that, at least). I enjoy acoustic music as well as electric-based music, and I play both the acoustic and electric guitars. I think my voice sounds a lot like Chad Urmston from Dispatch, but I'm not sure how I feel about that. I try to keep my style unique to me and not like anyone else's. I really enjoy rap music as well, I listen to artists like Ludacris, Jay-Z, Outkast, etc. all the time. I would say my musical style is kind of a funky acoustic-rock, and I have a natural talent for fitting into whatever style the people I'm playing with happen to have. I love just playing music with people and jamming out, it's my favorite thing in the world.

I am not a seasoned veteran, but I have played out with various projects when time has permitted. Last group was a 5 year run as lead vocalist and guitar player for the Reg Hot Horn Dawgs, (a Blues Brothers style 12 piece horn band) which I named and was a founding member.

Biography
Todd's current project is called Twenty Aught Eight, which consists of posting a new song to his web site and his myspace page every week for a year between 1/14/08 and 1/12/09. During the project, the songs can be downloaded for free from Todd's site and they will also be available for purchase on CDs. Each collection will document a quarter of a year and will have 13 songs.
Prior to Twenty Aught Eight, he released 5 CDs independently, starting with Even My Shoes got the Blues in 1999. Reflections followed in 2001 and Here I Stand debuted in 2004. In 2007, Todd released two albums simultaneously.
My Blues consists of 20 selections from his first three albums that were rerecorded in order to better serve as an introduction to his earlier work. These songs were chosen based on consistent audience reaction and also include some of Todds favorites.
Live, Love, Learn, Sing! is made up of 14 brand new songs that are all deeply personal with diverse subject matter than includes life, death, love, suicide, persistence, self awareness, and fate. The lyrics find a way to provoke thought in the listener, often managing to do so with a dose of humor. The music successfully blends elements of blues, folk, rock, bluegrass, and country, forming what might best be called Americana.
2007 also saw Todds return to what he does best - playing live music, where it continues to be his goal to move people on an emotional level, drawing on his deep, resonant voice, tasteful guitar work, and a storytellers knack for interacting with and entertaining his audience.

Don't cancel that gig! Willing to sub for missing bass player... also play some rhythm guitar... I have been playing forever and have a very good ear... also sing harmony and backup vocals. Currently work with Joanne Powers, (improvisatory jazz/experimental music), and Kronic Jones (roots rock, blues and reggae), can also play mainstream jazz charts if you have them... soul or funk, sure... cut my teeth on Miles Davis' leg... fun for me is painting while listening to Arnold Schoenberg, Morton Feldman, Scriabin or Brecht... and yet, am always happy to find situation where I can sing mountain style, or acid rock country sounds... (like maybe Hot Tuna or The Byrds) love Hazel Dickens and Odetta... sing Hank Williams, John Prine, other traditional tunes... played with Southern Rock/blues band for years, Alman Brothers sound is natural to me... love the Holy Modal Rounders... gig with a Bluegrass band in Milwaukee on occasion. I came up in Chicago playing blues and jazz, learned acoustic bass playing with Mingus records and sitting in with others... studied jazz etc. with Russell Thorne... briefly schooled as classical bassist, and can read if necessary, also play flute but do not currently own one... spent years in choir and band as a child and teen, feel more comfortable on stage than off, generally speaking, and people say they find me easy to get along with (just don't cross me!) (heh heh) can collaborate like crazy and probably know at least half of your material already... and if not I will work on it cheerfully and accept your polite criticism without pouting... in other words I am a professional and if you need a hand occasionally or want to start something along the lines of anything that I mentioned, drop me a line. Yes, I have my own equipment. I am well over thirty but will not hold it against you if you are not. Particularly interested in playing with or singing with other women, although not just for amusement. I need to be working.

I play guitar and sing and write the songs. We are currently looking for two female vocalists: one who also plays bass or cello, and one who plays lead guitar (preferably in the Spanish style). Get in on the ground floor.
Musicality, playfullness, and character are more important to us at this stage than training and experience, although we welcome those as well. You must be addiction/cigarette free. This band is open to all races, ages, abilities, gender preferences, and nationalities. We use many musical genres: folk, rock, country, theater, and dance music.
Several months after a stroke, I started waking up with entire songs in my head, now seven years later, I have recovered my health, and I have over 3 hours of original music. I believe that feeling is healing and the best music makes you feel something. I am out to start a band and record a CD before the end of the year.

I've been playing bass for awhile. I play Warwick, Fender, and Epiphone, powered by an Ampeg SVT-Pro, through a SWR stack. I also have a 'lead caliber voice,' as I have fronted a reasonably successful band for a number of years in NE Wisconsin. I've put out two cd's of original music, so I have some studio experience. I have played Summerfest ('08 M+I Bank Stage, '09 Harley Davidson Stage), High Noon, and the Majestic. My last band also opened for a handful of national acts that have come through the Madison area. I've lived down here for about 3 years. Fave bands? To many to list, but my play list changes from day to day..LOL!! Some include Zeppelin, Sabbath, Humble Pie, Bad Co., 311, Incubus (with Dirk Lance), Karnivool, Black Stone Cherry, Candlebox, Shinedown, Nickleback (but really, anything after 'The Long Road' is trash, in my opinion), Breaking Benjamin, etc. I'm not into metal, punk, or emo. I do enjoy country, as well.

We are a live act! We record every show and put them out for release on disk by the next week. We travel, sometimes over 6 hours one way for a show. The band provides 3-1/2 hour sets with no breaks and no stops. The train comes by and people just get on. With crowds in excess of 350 people per show these days, venues are getting bigger and production is getting better.

HI, my name is Ilse, and I am a 22 year old university student living in Madison.
I have played the trombone since I was 9 years old, with years of orchestra and jazz bands. I started playing the piano when I was very young but gave it up eventually for the guitar. I am still a beginner on the guitar, but I love it, and enjoy playing the accoustic. I also love singing, whether it be lead or back up harmonizing vocals.
I was part of the madison based ska band SKAPUT! for about a year, in which I played the trombone and sang back-up. or small band, whether with people who want to start something up, or with an already established band who are looking for a few odds and ends.

I have been playing keyboards, drums, singing and writing songs since I was a kid in the 70's. I have hugely eclectic tastes, from classical to hard rock to jazz to all manner of world music, but I'd say my biggest touchstones are the Beatles, Stevie Wonder, Bach and Miles Davis. My favorite artists recently are Radiohead, The Flaming Lips and Wilco. I have written music for theatre, dance, movies, TV, and jingles. I'm excited by musical innovation and love to create new sounds and new styles of music. I drummed in The Merkins, which started as bluegrass (with horns) and soon incorporated funk and Balkan folk in odd meters. Later I drummed in Lemon Skweezer, a Led Zeppelin cover band. C.A. Andersen is a musician, singer, songwriter, and a
native of Madison, WI. He has been in the spotlights and the shadows of the Madison music scene since the 1980's.
C.A. played guitar and sang for THE TICKS from 2001 - 2003. Recently he played with THE REBUILTS from 2004 - 2009. THE REBUILTS is a Rock n' Roll band influenced by Rockabilly, Punk and Old School Country, featuring Skip Peer on vocals. 2006 Been playing about 35 years in bands ranging from rock and metal to folk and acoustic music. Currently working on a bunch of solo material in both acoustic and electric format to be released??? No angry or hateful material. Think Sister Hazel, meets Matchbox 20 and Eric Johnson with acoutic material reminisent of Michael Hedges and Billy McLaughlan.
I seriously injured my fret hand and had surgery in April 2006. After a couple surgerys I started to play again Feb 2007. Played my first show since the accident Sept 15, 2007.
Spring/Summer 2009 - More hand problems have flared up and I once again can't play guitar.
Fall 2009 Back to playing and doing benefit gigs to get back into it!
Currently (Spring 2010) recovering from my latest injury to my hands, very nasty frostbite, which occured during winter. Chomping the bit to get back to playing music and working on the solo CD. For now I'm hoping to be able to start hand rehab in April 2010.

A Mississippi boy living in Madison, WI...
Well, for starters... thats a pretty sorry description. Sure, Josh was born and raised in Mississippi, but hes always been a bit of a nomad. In fact, theres not even much of an accent there. However, one thing Josh did bring with him from the South is his love for music. He loves to throw a bit of blues or funk into most anything he plays, almost to a fault!
Joshs music background began back in elementary school, where he fell in love with song. Soon, he began learning his way around the piano, followed closely by the trumpet (request Ring of Fire at the next PianoFondue show!), and finally the choir in his senior year. He majored in music at Millsaps College in Jackson, focusing primarily on conducting and vocal performance, and he has been working in music ever since.

Since this is my profile page, I'm very diverse when it comes to music. I like just about anything that pleases the crowd. Yes, I like crowds and I like working the room and the crowd. I love the interaction that takes place and I believe this should be a priority for any band --- please the crowd! I also think it's possible and necessary that the band be satisfied (musically). Oh, I almost forgot, I really enjoy the true friendships that are made as a result of the whole process.
I live in the Madison, Wisconsin area and I've worked with a couple of bands in the area. Prior to moving to Madison, I was the lead singer and acoustic guitar player (front man) for a successful, yet local, band in Central Wisconsin. For over 11 years, I acted as the band's booking agent, I owned the main sound equipment, and I truly enjoyed performing country / rock, and classic rock in many different venues. I'm excited to get something fresh started (although it would be nice to join an established band).
I enjoy singing lead, as well as providing background vocals, I play acoustic and electric rhythm guitar, I play a little rhythm on mandolin, and I enjoy writing songs.

My name is Derek Ramnarace and I recently moved to Madison from LaCrosse. I have toured constantly as the lead singer/ guitarist for the band Hooch since 1999. I have been booked to every major festival in the midwest including Summerfest, 10,000 Lakes Festival, Feel Good Festival, Campout Roots, Grateful Garcia, Newpalooza, Blottopia and many others. I have performed with tons of national acts, traveled to many points around the country, performed at tons of national clubs and recorded a few albums. I've had the opportunity to learn and work with Grammy winning producers and engineers over the course of my travels and I'm looking to start a new project here in the Madison area.
I am leaning towards an acoustic folk/bluegrass sound but with obvious influences in rock, reggae and blues to be fused into a more modern folk sound. Think Ray LaMontagne, Josh Ritter, Sufjan Stevens, Amos Lee and Bright Eyes.
I have tons of original music already written that I have not performed or recorded with any other bands. I am open to collaborating with other songwriters. I have many venues and opportunities lined up for gigs all over the mid west. I am willing to stay fairly local but would love to travel around if it works with everyone's schedule. Priority number one is finding like minded people with the right energy and ambition to make music with!!!

I have been ministering since 1994 and have played guitar since '69. My music style is Contemporary Christian/Rock, and I enjoy playing many of the songs you hear on Christian radio today.

I have been playing guitar ever since I saw the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan show. My favorite music is from the sixties but I also like Mellencamp, ACDC, Police, 70s, 80s, etc. I have strong vocals in the genre of John Fogerty, Mellencamp, and also like good harmony. A good song is a good song no matter how old or new.

i have been playing since i was five years old. started in home town milwaukee, wisc. can to the wisc. dells area, played at wisc opry for years and a hand full of bands in the area. i also give lessons at the baraboo music store. looking for week-end jobs. in the baraboo-- dells area.

John Masino from Madison Wisconsin: guitarist/vocalist/songwriter John Masino was an intricate part of many popular midwest bands such as Baby Fat, Chunky Pie, Punch, Hi-Fi, Powerplay, Masino, The Rage and Neptune. He also appears on the Gregg Clemons album on CBS Nemperor Records and has worked as a studio musician in New York. John was also a semifinalist in The 1999 Jimi Hendrix Electric Guitar Competition that was held at B.B. King's Blues club in Memphis, TN.
