Music Theatre of Madison is once again looking to staff the pit orchestra for an upcoming show. The current show on deck is Andrew Lippa's WILD PARTY which will be performed in the Bartell Theatre downtown Madison the first two weekends in June. We are very interested in having high quality people in the pit orchestra who will be compensated for their time with us. The instrumentation for the pit orchestra is as follows:

Trumpet - a player with great high range and stamina. One trumpet part for the show and its a toughy.

Bass - electric and/or acoustic would be fine - or someone who has ability to do both.

Guitar - electric and must be comfortable soloing

Drum Set/Aux Percussion

REED PARTS - There are three reed parts...multi instrument people....

1 - Alto Sax, Clarinet, Flute/piccolo

2 - Bass Clarinet, Clarinet, Flute, Tenor Sax

3 - Alto Sax, Bari Sax, Bass Clarinet, clarinet


Stipends are $300 each and possible other benefits per contract for pit members. There will be 5 Sunday evening rehearsals for pit only and then tech week for the show in the Bartell. Sunday evening pit rehearsals are tentatively set for Apr 18, 25, May 2, 16, 23 from 7-9:30pm downtown Madison.

Tech Rehearsals Evening of June 1, 2, 3.

Performances: first 2 weekends in June.
